ヴォルネイの村落を囲む「ル・ヴィラージュ」と呼ばれる一帯に位置する、歴史的意義の深い一級畑。11世紀にブルゴーニュ公が城を築いた地であり、かつての公爵宮殿に由来する名称を持つ。2.15ヘクタールを所有するドメーヌ・マルキ・ダンジェルヴィルがその大半を占める独占畑（モノポール）として知られる。このクリュは、ヴォルネイの中でも比較的軽めのボディを備え、上質な表現を見せるスタイルに分類される。かつてこの地のワインは、淡い色合いと空気のような軽やかさが特徴であったが、現代の理想的な姿は、その繊細さやエレガンスを保ちつつ、風味の凝縮感と長い余韻を伴うものである。パワーよりも精巧なレースを思わせる質感が、この畑の個性を形作っている。
Clos des Ducs is a premier cru monopole in Volnay, held entirely by Domaine Marquis d'Angerville (2.15 ha). The name reaches back to the Dukes of Burgundy, who maintained vineyards across the Côte de Beaune. D'Angerville's association with the site spans several generations, and the domaine's work here has long anchored its reputation.
Pinot Noir, red only. At 2.15 ha under single ownership, the cru functions as an undivided unit — an increasingly rare arrangement on the fragmented Côte de Beaune. Standard premier cru regulations govern yield and vine density. Volnay's thin limestone soils over marl tend to produce wines with more transparency than weight.
