コート・ド・ボーヌ地区のヴォルネイに位置するクロ・デ・バラは、村の家々を取り囲むように広がる「ル・ヴィラージュ」と総称される区画群の一角を占める一級畑である。歴史的にフランス王室やブルゴーニュ公爵家と深い関わりを持つこの地には、数多くの独占畑（クロ）が点在している。この畑は、ルイ・ジャドが主要な所有者として名を連ねている。ワインのスタイルは、ヴォルネイの中でも比較的軽やかなボディを持つ傾向にあり、繊細で上質な表現が特徴とされる。力強さやタンニンの主張よりも、精巧でエレガントな質感を備え、余韻の持続性が重視される。ヴォルネイの理想的な姿を体現する、スタイリッシュな仕上がりを見せるクリュである。
Clos de la Barre is a premier cru in Volnay, the Côte de Beaune village whose Pinot Noirs are defined by finesse and transparency rather than muscle. Volnay sits above Pommard on the hillside and produces some of the most graceful reds in the Côte de Beaune.
