History
Château de Monthelie (Eric de Suremain) is a small estate working in Rully, at the northern tip of the Côte Chalonnaise. Rully produces both still whites and reds, and is a base for much of Burgundy's Crémant de Bourgogne. The de Suremain family has ties to Monthelie proper — the village on the Côte de Beaune — but the three premier cru parcels documented here all sit within Rully's boundaries. Founding details are not extensively documented in public sources.
