コート・シャロネーズ地区の南部に位置し、白ワインの銘醸地として知られるモンタニ・レ・ビュクシー村に本拠を置くドメーヌが、このピニュレ・エ・フィスである。栽培・醸造の拠点を置く本拠地村のテロワールに特化した実直な造り手であり、そのラインナップは極めて限定的かつ精鋭主義的な構成となっている。特筆すべきは、村内でも優れた条件を備えた一級畑「レ・シャン・トワゾー」を所有している点だ。グラン・クリュの保有はなく、所有する畑はこの一級畑のみという極めて希少な生産体制を敷いている。モンタニの個性を一箇所のプルミエ・クリュに凝縮させ、土地のアイデンティティを純粋に表現することに注力するその姿勢は、ブルゴーニュの小規模な家族経営ドメーヌが持つ美徳を体現しているといえる。

Montagny is a Chardonnay-only appellation at the southern end of the Côte Chalonnaise — the only Burgundy village AOC where every parcel qualifies as Premier Cru if yields and alcohol thresholds are met.
